Former MP Dan Rogerson has been selected by the Liberal Democrats to take on the Conservative MP.
Popular former MP Dan Rogerson this week announced that he will contest the North Cornwall seat for the Liberal Democrats in the upcoming snap General Election.
Dan Rogerson has a strong track record of standing up for the people of North Cornwall, having been the MP from 2005 until 2015. In that time he successfully campaigned for the A30 to be dualled at Temple, for sky-high water bills to be reduced and to protect our local services.
Elections in North Cornwall are always a close fight between the Conservatives and the Liberal Democrats. Labour, Greens and UKIP cannot win here. Voters who want the Conservatives to have a strong opposition nationally need to lend Dan Rogerson their support at the General Election on 8th June.
Dan said "It's clear from the national polls the Conservatives are almost certainly going to form the next Government, with Theresa May as Prime Minister - possibly with a large majority. Jeremy Corbyn and Labour haven't got a chance of getting their hands on Number 10.
"The election in North Cornwall is about electing a hard working MP who will make sure that there is an effective opposition to the Government in Westminster, speaking up for local people. I'm proud of my track record of standing up for North Cornwall in Parliament and would be proud to do so again.
"The question is, what sort of MP do the people of North Cornwall want? Do they want an MP who will do what they're told by the Conservatives, or do they want a fight who will never put party politics before local people?"
