Dan is calling on small shops on North Cornwall to enter a prestigious Parliamentary competition.

Mr Rogerson is encouraging local shops to enter the All-Party Parliamentary Small Shops Group's Best Small Shops Competition.

The Best Small Shops Competition celebrates the contribution of small retailers in the UK economy and is open to all independents and specialist retailers selling goods and services.

Commenting, Dan said, "This is a great opportunity for small shops that are at the heart of town and village life across North Cornwall to get recognition for the brilliant work they do supporting the community and sustaining jobs all year round. Small shops and businesses are crucial to the local economy in Cornwall and I was delighted to meet business owners in Wadebridge last month to mark Small Business Saturday. I hope these shops and many others in our area will enter the Best Small Shop competition and get the credit they deserve."

Small shops can submit their application to the competition via

www.bestsmallshops.uk setting out, in no more than 500 words, why they are the best in the UK.

Nominations must be made by 30th January, and all shortlisted candidates will be invited to a Parliamentary Reception on 25th February 2015, where the winner will be announced.

The All-Party Parliamentary Small Shops Group brings together MPs and members of the House of Lords from all political parties to work together on issues that affect small shopkeepers.
