Now situated at Pennygillam Industrial Estate, the move follows 10 years at premises at Kingshill Industrial Estate in Bude, and comes after a period of significant growth for the company, which has seen the team grow to 22 employees and several new product lines added to the business’ portfolio.

With easier access to transport links, the new location will be more convenient for customers and employees, helping to ensure the business can provide a reliable next day delivery service across the UK. The new premises have been refitted to provide 3,000 sq ft of warehouse space, enabling Continental to hold larger quantities of stock, and 5,000 sq ft of office space to accommodate the growing sales and technical support teams.

The company expects to recruit another 12-16 people within the next six months, with 10 new jobs currently being advertised, and following the investment of in excess of £400,000 in the new premises, Continental is one of the largest Small and Medium Enterprise (SME) investments in Launceston in recent years.

Speaking at the official opening, MP for North Cornwall Dan Rogerson said: “It is a pleasure to officially open Continental Underfloor’s new premises here in Launceston. The company is a key local employer in North Cornwall and it is great to see that the business is going from strength to strength and helping to create a stronger economy by providing important jobs and opportunities in the supply chain for our area.”

Chris Ingram, founder and MD of Continental, commented: “Since we established 15 years ago, we have shown it is possible to run and grow a leading national company from Cornwall, winning several business awards for our investment in technology and IT along the way. We are committed to supporting the economy in Cornwall, providing high-value, skilled and long-term careers to the residents here – and this move affirms this. The new office is vital in helping us to achieve our post-recession growth plans.
