Following the collapse of the sea wall and railway line at Dawlish last winter, Network Rail have been asked by the Coalition Government to produce a report looking at an additional, alternative rail route to and from Cornwall and Devon. Dan Rogerson's preferred route is to re-open the former Exeter to Plymouth railway line via Okehampton and Tavistock.
Dan is calling on Network Rail to re-open the Exeter, Okehampton and Tavistock line as soon as possible, as well as asking Network Rail to explore bringing back railway services to communities in North Cornwall.
Please sign Dan's petition to urge Network Rail to bring back rail services to communities in North Cornwall:
We the undersigned call on Network Rail to re-introduce railway services to and from Okehampton and Tavistock as quickly as possible.
We also call on Network Rail to consider re-opening railway lines to communities in north and east Cornwall.
We believe that connecting the Exeter, Okehampton & Tavistock line to Cornwall would improve the resilience of the rail network, would offer more options for people travelling to, from and around Cornwall, and would be a boost to residents, businesses and the economy in Cornish communities that are not currently served by mainline rail services.
