The Coalition Government is making £25 million available to provide hundreds of new minibuses for community transport organisations in rural areas.
Voluntary organisations who provide vital transport services for rural communities with poor public transport links will be able to bid for new vehicles.
Dan welcomed the decision, saying: “Voluntary organisations across North Cornwall are doing fantastic work to provide community transport services for people who otherwise wouldn’t be able to get out and about. It is right that the Government supports rural community transport organisations and I am delighted that £25 million is being made available for new minibuses.
“Full details of how to apply for the funding for a new vehicle is being released shortly by the Department for Transport. I will be contacting community transport schemes across our area with all the details, but if anyone is interested in applying for funding please don’t hesitate to contact me on firstname.lastname@example.org or on 01566 777123.”
