Local MP Dan welcomes Wadebridge Sixth Form students to Parliament

North Cornwall’s Liberal Democrat MP Dan Rogerson welcomed students from Wadebridge Sixth Form to Westminster this week.

The group of 10, along with two members of staff from the school, met Dan in Parliament’s Westminster Hall on Tuesday morning. Mr Rogerson and the young people from Wadebridge took part in a national breakfast event where they able to discuss the Olympic Truce, and how its principles can be used to promote peace and dialogue across the world today.

Later in the day the students attended the Global Student Forum where they considered issues around food security, hunger and poverty around the world.

Commenting, Dan Rogerson said:

“I am always happy to welcome school groups from North Cornwall to Parliament, and the group from Wadebridge was no exception. It was a pleasure to meet the students, who were a credit to their school and to our area.

“It is also great to see young people engaging with challenging international issues like global peace, hunger and poverty. I hope that they enjoyed their early morning visit to Westminster, and the rest of their trip to London.”
