Dan Rogerson questions government ministers on rural healthcare
Dan Rogerson, Lib Dem MP for North Cornwall, brought the issue of access to healthcare in rural areas like Cornwall to the attention of Department for Health Ministers in the House of Commons yesterday.
Whilst Health ministers were being questioned on health inequalities across the country, the Liberal Democrat MP raised the importance of ensuring everyone in Cornwall has sufficient access to health services.
In particular Mr Rogerson raised concerns about changes to the way dispensing doctors provide healthcare services in rural areas, and urged the Department of Health to meet with the Dispensing Doctors Association to discuss the issue further.
Commenting, Dan Rogerson said:
“It is essential that everyone in communities here in North Cornwall has adequate access to healthcare services and treatment. Dispensing doctors play a huge role in providing these services in a rural area and I hope ministers will do everything they can to support their vital work.
