Dan Rogerson welcomes MP from Bermuda

Local MP, Dan Rogerson last week met with an MP from the United Bermuda Party, Charlie Swan, whilst he was on a visit to Cornwall.

The two MPs met up in Dan Rogerson’s Launceston office and discussed issues on the political agenda as well as more local matters.

Commenting after the visit, Dan Rogerson said:

“I was delighted to welcome Charlie Swan to this part of Cornwall and hope that this is one of many visits he makes.  It was surprising to discover how many similarities there are between this part of the world and his, although Bermuda actually has a population of around 60,000 people and that is fewer than the number of constituents I represent.  Both places are holiday destinations so rely on the tourism industry heavily, both are largely rural and Cornwall’s identity is very much focused on the sea as of course is Bermuda, as an island nation.

“I’m keen to stress that I am not planning any return trips, although I was very glad to meet Charlie and learn more about his part of the world!”
