Boyton firm a leader in ‘green economy’ – Rogerson
The local Liberal Democrat MP visited Director, Andy Glossop, at the thriving local business this week to see for himself what could be achieved with the quality timber frames they produce.
Some of their developments meet the strict ‘Level 5’ standard, as set out in the government’s Code for Sustainable Homes, which measures new homes for their energy and carbon dioxide emissions, pollution levels, their use of water, and their capacity to manage waste.
Commenting, Mr Rogerson said:
“These are just the sorts of new developments that Nick Clegg and I are saying should become the norm.
“There’s a huge opportunity to create jobs in this sector so that as the economy recovers, it does so on the strength of building real infrastructure rather than betting on banks.
“It means lower emissions in future, and more opportunities for people in Cornwall to stay and work here at home. Having been brought up in the area, I know how difficult that can be.
“This local firm is a real leader, showing how the rest of the country could help build a new, green economy for the future.”
