PAC report a ‘Damning indictment’ – Rogerson
Posted on Wednesday, December 16, 2009 ·
Commenting on the 1st PAC Report 2009-10 – A second progress update on the administration of the Single Payment Scheme by the Rural Payments Agency, North Cornwall’s MP, Dan Rogerson said:
“This is a further damning indictment of the way in which Defra and the Rural Payments Agency has let our farming community down.
“Their incompetence has caused real hardship, putting livelihoods at risk and, tragically, even testing some farmers’ will to live.
“On top of that taxpayers have lost out massively as good money was thrown at overcomplex IT systems which didn’t even get the job done.”
