New pond plants for Priory Park?
The pond at Priory Park, Bodmin, could be given a lift with a range of new plants, following representations from local MP, Dan Rogerson.
Mr Rogerson arranged to meet today (Monday) with the Town Council and the Environment Agency this week, and the two bodies are set to work together to find species of plant that will be resilient to the other pond life in the park.
Commenting, Mr Rogerson said:
“I’m very pleased that officials are looking at this and seeking a solution.
“Clearly the swans in the park are prone to eat new plants, which can make it difficult for new vegetation to take proper root.
“However, both the Environment Agency and the Town Council agree that a remedy can be found.
“I’d like to thank them for responding so constructively on this issue, which constituents have raised with me, and I look forward to hearing reports progress.”
