Lanivet residents win fuel bill help
Residents in St Benet’s Close, Lanivet, are to receive help with heating their homes, after local MP Dan Rogerson called on a senior officer from Sanctuary Housing, which owns the properties, to meet with local to hear how expensive the houses are to heat.
Keith Jackson from Sanctuary Housing pledged to assist residents by installing solar water heaters and agreed to investigate a new, more efficient heating system.
Commenting, Mr Rogerson said:
“The cost of energy is a big problem for residents all over Cornwall, but it can be remedied if the will to help is there.
“I’m very grateful to Keith and his team for coming down from Birmingham to hear residents’ concerns.
“It seems he is determined to take action, so it’s now a matter of when improvements will be made.
“I’ll be pressing the association to get the water heating system sorted straight away, so that residents will see a real difference in their energy bills sooner rather than later.”
