Joy as Stratton Post Office reopens
Residents in Stratton have been celebrating after their local Post Office reopened in new premises this week.
The local branch had closed down in February 2008 and local MP Dan Rogerson worked with campaigners to have the Post Office service restored inside the historic Tree Inn pub.
Mr Rogerson came to Stratton to open the new Post Office with publicans Bob and Emma Semple.
Commenting, he said:
“This is a great day for the town.
“Bob and Emma Semple have worked tirelessly to make this happen, and I wish them every success in their new venture.
“This is a new start for the Post Office, a new start for the Tree Inn and a new start for Stratton.
“The key to its success will be support from the community, so I hope everyone will come together to make good use of the Post Office, as well as enjoying some of the other products the Tree Inn offers!”
