Lights out for Earth Hour – MP

Local MP, Dan Rogerson, will be taking part in ‘Earth Hour’ this weekend, as the World Wildlife Fund campaigns to get a billion people across the globe to switch their lights off for an hour.

At 8.30pm on Saturday 28th March people around the world will make a bold statement to show they are concerned about climate change, in the hope of convincing world leaders to agree radical action at the Copenhagen summit later this year.

Homes, businesses and iconic landmarks in more than 1,000 cities will go dark, sending a truly dramatic message, simply by switching lights off.

Commenting, Dan Rogerson said:

“This is a simple way that we can all send a clear message about how seriously we take climate change.

“So many of the communities in North Cornwall already lead the way with green initiatives that I expect people here will be especially keen to help.

“Even if this just makes everyone think about the lights they leave on when they could be switched off, it will make a difference.”
