North Cornwall's MP, Dan Rogerson, will step up his street surgery tour in the coming weeks, as he makes his way round a further 93 locations in his constituency. Housing in Devon and Cornwall least affordable in the country
A report from Halifax Estate Agents released today (Saturday) shows that six in ten of the rural areas with the least affordable housing in the country are in Devon and Cornwall. Cornwall takes a step forward on getting a judicial review on Post Office closures
Cornwall County Council has made a major step forward in its bid for a judicial review into the Government’s Post Office closure programme. The council received notice today (Thursday) from the High Court in London that a preliminary court hearing would take place after Monday, September 29th, in the Queen’s Bench Divisional Court. South West Water complaints rise by 21%
Cornwall’s MPs have responded angrily to news that South West Water had received nearly 9,500 complaints this year – a rise of 21%. The Liberal Democrat Team for Cornwall has long campaigned for a fairer deal on water charges, arguing for a cap on the proportion of household income that can be taken up by water bills. Cornish MPs have launched a scathing attack on proposals to hold two full sets of elections for the new Cornwall Council within about two years, on different boundaries and for a different number of councillors.
