Padstow buses will stop at station car park
Residents in Padstow should be reassured that buses will continue to stop in the station car park, says the area’s MP.
Dan Rogerson chaired a public meeting with Padstow’s Mayor, Cllr Alec Rickard, and Western Greyhound’s Chief Executive, Mark Howarth, this week after residents reported concerns that bus services might terminate at the top of the town.
Both the Town Council and the bus company were adamant that buses would continue to drop off and pick up in or near the station car park, though new arrangements may need to be made for buses to turn safely.
Commenting, Dan Rogerson said:
“This week’s meeting has been a success.
“I am assured by Cllr Rickard and by Mark Howarth that neither wants to create accessibility difficulties for bus users by moving the stop to the top of the hill.
“While the Town Council is taking advice from the Health and Safety Executive on how best to meet their requirements, they are determined to keep a bus stop in the car park.
“I have asked to be kept informed of progress.”
