Local CAB a vital force against a faceless state – MP
Local MP, Dan Rogerson, visited North Cornwall’s CAB this week, to meet with Manager, Liz Evans.
Mr Rogerson works closely with CAB staff to resolve difficulties his constituents face with claiming benefits and tax credits, as well as with debt management.
Commenting after the visit, he said:
“Local CABs provide an absolutely essential service to people across our community.
“Too often, government services that people rely on are operated through distant call centres and complex computer systems.
“The CAB works with my office to cut through those great rolls of red tape, and get action for residents who have been badly let down.
“When I have been able to help with a housing or benefits problem, the CAB often provide expert follow-up support, making sure people’s finances are on an even keel, and that they have the help they need.
“All in all, CABs are a vital force against the faceless state.”
