Dan Rogerson MP for North Cornwall

North Cornwall’s MP, Dan Rogerson, and Wadebridge County Councillor, Jeremy Rowe, have hailed a triumph for local people, as the first signs of work on the Tollgate Junction went up this week.

Local campaigners have demanded improvements at the dangerous T-junction for years.  Liberal Democrat controlled Cornwall County Council has now made the scheme a priority, and works will begin on February 11th.

The junction is to be upgraded to a roundabout, ending years of treacherous turns.

Commenting, Mr Rogerson said:

“These improvements will make a real difference to safety at the junction.  Quite simply, this decision will save lives.

“Local people have run a strong campaign with Jeremy Rowe’s support, and I’m delighted that the Council has responded with this scheme.

“I look forward to seeing the works begin.”
