Local MP thanks Royal Mail workers during Christmas rush

North Cornwall’s MP, Dan Rogerson visited Royal Mail workers at delivery offices in Wadebridge, Bodmin, Launceston and Bude to thank them for their efforts during the Christmas rush.

The local Liberal Democrat MP took tours of the offices to see how Royal Mail staff deliver a first class Christmas for people in North Cornwall.

The visits come just ahead of the last posting date for first class mail, of Thursday 20th December.

Commenting, Dan Rogerson said:

“There’s still time to get cards in the post for far-flung friends and family as Royal Mail staff are working round the clock to get Christmas wishes through local letterboxes.

“This is my third annual visit to the offices and I was delighted to see some familiar faces, as well as new ones.

“As we go into the New Year, the importance of receiving cards from friends and family is a timely reminder of how vital the local postal service is.  As in 2007, I will working right through 2008 to defend it, along with the local Post Office network.”
