MP welcomes street trading crackdown
North Cornwall’s MP, Dan Rogerson, has welcomed news that street traders in Padstow have been prosecuted.
Commenting, he said:
“I have been working with the police and the District Council to see this problem tackled.
“Street traders evade business rates and can flout health and safety regulations. Legitimate shopkeepers have to bear the burden of both. Street trading is therefore both unfair and illegal.
“I welcome any efforts we can make to enforce the law in this area.”
