MP proud of local pubs
Local MP, Dan Rogerson, this week supported ‘Proud of Pubs’ week by paying a morning visit to The Weavers pub, Bodmin. He then went on to The Molesworth at Wadebridge, which was recently taken over by St Austell Brewery, to see the effect of extensive investment in the business.
Senior politicians from across the country, including Liberal Democrat leader, Sir Menzies’ Campbell stopped off to meet local publicans in their constituencies as part of the special week, which concluded on Sunday.
Mr Rogerson visited to find out more about all the great things that pubs do in rural communities.
Commenting afterwards, Mr Rogerson said:
“Local pubs are at the heart of village life and are often used by local clubs and groups further enriching community spirit in the area.
“At this time of year, when tourists bring money to the local economy, the quality food and drink, much of it produced in Cornwall, will ensure that many of them return time and again.
“The Weavers is a local of mine so I know it well and it’s fantastic to see The Molesworth restored to its former glory.”
