North Cornwall’s MP, Dan Rogerson, this week welcomed 21 Year Six pupils from St Minver School.

The ten and eleven year olds came to London for a full parliamentary tour, and to put questions to their local Liberal Democrat MP in a special meeting at Parliament’s Portcullis House, which opened in 2000.

Commenting after the meeting, Mr Rogerson said:

“These pupils may only just be leaving primary school but their questions were as incisive as those from many an adult.

“They wanted to know what I was doing to help out with everything from making sure young people have playgrounds to preventing global terrorism.

“It was good to be able to say what the District Council could be doing after May to improve their local environment – and to set out my approach to the security challenges we face.

“I always enjoy welcoming school groups from North Cornwall to see Westminster at work. Any constituent who wants to visit should simply get in touch with my office.”
