Cornish Chelsea pensioner ‘Credit to cause’
The local MP has been in touch with Mr Carbis, who worked as an engineer in the Armed Forces.
Commenting after the meeting, Mr Carbis said:
“I was pleased to meet Dan in the House of Commons, and glad to see he takes devolving power to Cornwall seriously.”
The North Cornwall MP added:
“Like many other people of Cornish birth and descent, Mr Carbis takes a close interest in Cornish current affairs.
“It was a delight to meet him, not least because of his excellent grasp on how we can make Cornwall better governed.
“He and I are at one that the Government needs to devolve power to Cornwall, so that we get more control over our own taxes and our own services. Cornwall has special requirements, which Whitehall may never properly recognise.
“John Carbis is a credit to the country and a credit to his cause.”
