Tintagel Waste Centre “People spoke, council listened” – Rogerson

North Cornwall MP Dan Rogerson last week welcomed news that the Tintagel Waste and Recycling Centre at Bowithick is to be kept open.

Mr Rogerson, who organised the original public meeting on this issue last year, was in Tintagel again on Thursday to hear Adam Paynter, Deputy Leader of Cornwall County Council, announce that the facility was to remain in operation for the foreseeable future.

Commenting after the meeting, Mr Rogerson said:

“This is testament to people power – and the Liberal Democrat Council's capacity to listen.

"There was a stunning turnout at our first meeting and this clearly demonstrated to the County Council how much support there is for this important service on the North Coast.

"The people of North Cornwall spoke and the County Council has listened."
