Blair speech ‘Irrelevant and out of touch’ – Rogerson

North Cornwall MP, Dan Rogerson today (Tuesday) dismissed Tony Blair's final speech to Conference as Labour leader as 'irrelevant in Cornwall and out of touch with the country'.

Commenting, Mr Rogerson said:

"Tony Blair claims that public services are strong. Yet in the real world hospitals are closing wards and rural services are struggling.

"Tony Blair tells us of his efforts on poverty. Yet in the real world Gordon Brown's tax credit chaos blights the lives of some of Britain's poorest people.

"In North Cornwall, we know Labour is irrelevant. Whoever leads them, they trail in third at election time.

"The choice here is between a value-free, policy-free Conservative Party with a record of incompetence and neglect, or a team of strong Liberal Democrat voices in Parliament fighting for lower taxes for hard-working people and for communities to get control of their own public services."
