Rogerson praises Police and volunteer action in Davidstow

Following the illegal weekend-long rave at Davidstow Common near Camelford last weekend, Dan Rogerson, MP for North Cornwall, who visited the site today, has praised the swift and decisive action by police officers, Neighbourhood Watch and people in the community. Gordon Brown passes the buck on water charges

Gordon Brown has refused to meet a cross party delegation of South West MPs to discuss the ongoing Westcountry water bills crisis. Julia Goldsworthy, Liberal Democrat MP for Falmouth and Camborne, wrote to the Chancellor of the Exchequer in March this year on behalf of all MPs in the South West, requesting a meeting. Tax Credit System Lets Down Thousands of Families in North Cornwall

According to government figures released today, families across North Cornwall owe a total of £2.8 million due to the overpayment of tax credits as a result of Treasury administrations errors. Renew passports early and avoid extra charges

Cornish Liberal Democrat MPs have added their voices to the growing NO2ID campaign which encourages people to renew their passports to avoid having personal details recorded from 2008. The Identity Cards Act was introduced earlier this year and means that everyone who applies for a passport will have to have details such as fingerprints and iris scans taken and stored on the National Identity Database.
