Lib Dem PPC concerns over digital TV pilot scheme for Cornwall
In the current plans, Cornwall, along with it's neighbouring county, will be the first place to lose the analogue television signal, meaning that every Cornish resident needs to go digital.
"I am deeply concerned about the impact this will have on the people of North Cornwall. Whilst I appreciate how wonderful it is that we should have access to new technology, and be given the option of watching television in which ever way we choose, I am anxious about the potential for choice being removed.
"My concern, and therefore my fight, is for those on a low income or pension who will not be able to afford the equipment required to view with this new digital signal. I intend to examine this situation closely and continue to fight for a fair deal for local people"
