Dan Rogerson sets out Lib Dem priorities for health with local GP

Liberal Democrat PPC for North Cornwall, Dan Rogerson, has launched his party's health programme for the General Election with North Coast GP Dr Chris Jarvis.

Mr Rogerson said:

"The people of North Cornwall need to know that money spent on healthcare is being targeted where it will do the most good. Liberal Democrats have set five priorities:

"We will invest in quicker diagnosis to make sure that people receive the treatment they need as soon as possible.

"We will put tackling the MRSA 'superbug' ahead of politically motivated targets.

"We will scrap charges for eye and dental checks and launch an independent review of prescription charges to make the system fairer.

"We will fund free personal care as we have already secured in Scotland.

"We will place greater emphasis on preventing illness and promoting a healthier lifestyle.

"My discussions with Dr Jarvis have made it clear to me how important these changes are for many people in North Cornwall"

Mr Rogerson visited Dr Jarvis to discuss health issues and to talk about the situation locally in North Cornwall. Dr Jarvis is a well known GP in the Tintagel and Boscastle area and has served on a number of health local organisations.
