Dan Rogerson visits Launceston fire station
Dan Rogerson, Liberal Democrat Prospective Parliamentary Candidate for North Cornwall, visited Launceston Fire station this week, along with councillors Adam Paynter, Mike Nicholls and Ken Scoble.
Dan's visit gave him an opportunity to discuss with the firefighters the issues and challenges of being part of a retained firefighting force.
"It is so important to recognise what a vital job is done by our local retained firefighters, and the invaluable support and service they offer their communities. My visit here today, has only deepened my admiration."
Cornwall has over 400 Retained Firefighters who, like their full-time colleagues, are trained to deal with a wide range of situations and incidents. Not only fires, but also road traffic accidents, floods, and spillages, as well as providing vital fire safety information to communities.
