Lib Dem PPC vows to fight for free cash withdrawals in rural areas

Dan Rogerson, Liberal Democrat Prospective Parliamentary Candidate for North Cornwall, has vowed to take up the fight for free cash machines in rural areas.

It is wholly impractical and unfair that local people should have to choose between paying a fee to withdraw their own money or to incur the cost of travelling to bigger towns to use free facilities. The case highlighted last week of a Boscastle woman who has to travel a 34 mile round trip to withdraw her own money is a situation which Mr Rogerson refuses to accept:

"Under first Conservative and now Labour governments, rural services have been progressively undermined. Many villages have lost Post Offices, other are losing shops and pubs. This latest withdrawal of services in North Cornwall is another blow to local people. Paul Tyler and I have already raised this issue and we will continue to fight for a fair deal in rural areas."

Anyone with any other stories or opinions about this should feel free to contact Dan, at his office (01566 772734) or via his website (www.danrogerson.org ), as he continues to fight for action on rural services.
